In Focus with Clear As Day Productions

At Spaceworks, we love celebrating the businesses that make up our community. This month, we’re spotlighting Clear As Day Productions, a dynamic Live-Action and animated Video Production Company with offices in Bristol and London. We spoke to Dan Bristow, co-founder and director.

How do you explain to people what you do?

“We are a Live Action & Animated Video Production Company based in Bristol & London.”

From high-end corporate videos to engaging animated content, Clear As Day Productions specialises in bringing stories to life through film and animation. Whether working on brand campaigns, event videos, or documentary projects, they craft compelling content tailored to their client’s needs.

How did you get started?

“Liam & I both met at University studying Documentary Film and TV at USW approximately 15 years ago. We both finished Uni & set out freelancing—I was a Camera Operator & Liam as an Animator & Editor. Three years later, we decided to combine our freelance offering and partnered to create Clear As Day Productions. In 2019, we wanted to get away from freelancing & white-labelled projects, moved from a partnership to a limited company, and began seeking our own direct client work. Today, we partner with various advertising agencies & work directly with a wide range of clients, from one-man bands to household brands. We have one full-time employee and a solid team of 5+ industry professionals that we regularly bring in on an ad hoc basis.”

Why Spaceworks?

“We chose Spaceworks after leaving our old office of seven years, which was just up the road in St George, so convenience was a factor. We also felt that Spaceworks offered great value for money, both in terms of the space & security we required and the monthly networking groups that bring businesses together to share issues & insights. This creates a fantastic community vibe and also provides a hotbed for business opportunities.”

From Strength to Strength

Clear As Day Productions has been making waves in the industry with a variety of exciting projects.

“We have been working with producers at Deloitte, editing their bi-weekly podcast The Green Room, as well as managing production for their ‘on the road’ episodes, which have taken us to amazing venues such as Twickenham Stadium & The McLaren Technology Centre, featuring some very high-profile guests.

We have also been working with creative agency Union Direct, managing production on a wide range of communication & event videos for Halifax, Lloyds & Scottish Widows

Most recently, we’ve gone back to our documentary roots and started a series called The Passion Project, where we’ve been creating mini-documentaries on people who are passionate about something—it really is as open as that! Keep an eye out on our socials for those.”

These projects showcase the company’s ability to handle a diverse range of content, from corporate communication to passion-driven documentary storytelling.
