Spaceworks is now a certified B Corp™

B Corp is a certification that measures a company’s whole impact, not just its profits. It looks at how a business treats its workers, its community, its suppliers and the environment, and sets a standard across all of it.

It’s been a long process, close to two years in the end, and a genuinely rigorous one. It makes you really look at how you operate, not just what you say.

Since the business was founded in 1985, Spaceworks has been about supporting local businesses, creating opportunities in our communities, and looking after our team. Being a not-for-profit, the idea that business should deliver more than profit has always been part of how we work.

It’s the same with the relationships we have with our customers. We are lucky to have businesses that have been based with us for many years, and we always appreciate their support and feedback.

Matthew Johnstone, our Chief Executive, said:

“This certification reflects the work of a lot of people over many years. We’re really proud to become a certified B Corp in the same week one of our founders and current director, Neil Pirie, was awarded an OBE for his services to business, young people and the Bristol community.”
